Our Edmonton, AB dental office is currently accepting new patients! Dr. Sekhon has an intense desire to spend as much one-on-one time as possible during your new patient visit. This helps us to provide proactive, preventive care that reduces the amount of dental treatment that you need over time.
Your First Visit With Us
When you arrive at our office for the first time, we’ll have you fill out a few forms to help us get to understand your needs better. Please let us know if you have any existing x-rays that need to be transferred from a previous dental provider.
After you’ve been escorted into the treatment area, one of our dental hygienists will take any necessary digital x-rays, discuss concerns with you and perform a cleaning. We also complete a thorough periodontal exam, measuring your tooth and gum attachment throughout your entire oral cavity.
Dr. Sekhon will then complete an extremely thorough examination – addressing everything from:
- Intraoral Soft Tissues
- Periodontal Findings
- Sleep Apnea Assessment
- Oral Cancer Screening
- Occlusal Evaluation
- Existing Fillings and Tooth Wear
- Health and Integrity of Tooth Enamel
- X-ray Findings
You might notice that your new patient exam at Gallery Dental is quite long. In fact, we suggest reserving approximately 2 hours for this first visit. Dr. Sekhon will walk you through every finding and each dental x-ray to explain exactly what we see and what we are looking for. All treatment is provided by a general dentist. For more complex cases, we often refer our patients to a specialist for treatment.
